The National Pan-Hellenic Council is an organization that helps achieve the goals and objectives of the national fraternities and sororities that hold membership.

Membership
All of these fraternities and sororities are predominantly comprised of African American women and men, but none of the organizations exclude members because of their race, creed, or color.

These fraternities and sororities participate in an intake program during the academic year. Each organization has specific requirement for membership.

Nationally, these fraternities and sororities are known as the Divine Nine:
Alpha Phi Alpha
Alpha Kappa Alpha
Omega Psi Phi
Kappa Alpha Psi
Delta Sigma Theta
Phi Beta Sigma
Zeta Phi Beta
Sigma Gamma Rho
Iota Phi Theta

UNO currently has seven of those organizations chartered on campus:
Alpha Phi Alpha
Omega Psi Phi
Delta Sigma Theta
Phi Beta Sigma
Zeta Phi Beta
Sigma Gamma Rho
Alpha Kappa Alpha

To learn more about each of these organizations, contact the Student Organizations and Leadership Programs office at (402) 554-2711. You may also visit their office on the first floor of the Milo Bail Student Center.
